Blueberry Lemonade Italian Soda

A coffee-shop Italian soda rebuilt from a blueberry lemonade stick: sparkling water over ice, then a slow float of cream that settles into layers.

Ingredients
  • 1 stick Wyler's Light Blueberry Lemonade in the collection →
  • 2 tablespoons still water, for dissolving
  • 12 ounces chilled sparkling water
  • 1–2 tablespoons half-and-half or heavy cream
  • Ice, generously
Method
  1. 01

Dissolve the stick in the still water at the bottom of a tall glass. It becomes your syrup.

  2. 02

Fill the glass with ice, then pour the sparkling water slowly down the side.

  3. 03

Give it one gentle stir to lift the color through the bubbles.

  4. 04

Float the cream over the back of a spoon and watch it curl down through the purple.

  5. 05

Serve with a straw, and leave the layers unstirred for a minute.
